Attention! Confirmed Cases of Measles

In the Northland there is an ongoing investigation related to confirmed cases of measles with multiple exposures at several Northland locations. A person who is exposed to measles is at risk to become sick with the measles for up to 21 days. Keep in mind that if you have been vaccinated with one dose of MMR there is 93% protection and with a second dose there is 97% protection.

General Symptoms include: fever, cough, nasal congestion and pink eye. The rash develops about three (3) to five (5) days after your first symptoms. If you develop measles you are contagious to others for four ( )4 days before your rash presents to five (5) days after rash begins.

If you are concerned you may have been exposed or that you may have measles, call your local health department:

If you are concerned you or a family member was exposed to measles be sure to inform our staff before your arrival. Please do not walk in to the clinics or go to our Emergency Room without calling and letting us know.
