MU Orthopaedic Surgeons Add Two New Physicians at Liberty Hospital

LIBERTY, MO. (Sept. 24, 2019) – Two fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons recently joined MU Orthopaedic Surgeons at Liberty Hospital. R. Chris Reams, M.D., and Andrew Taiber, M.D., will serve patients at Liberty Hospital as part of the organizations’ joint effort to expand the availability of comprehensive orthopaedic care in the region.

“Dr. Reams and Dr. Taiber use advanced orthopaedic technology and expertise to perform a variety of surgical procedures, and we are grateful to offer their capabilities to patients at Liberty Hospital,” said David Feess, Liberty Hospital President and CEO.

Dr. Reams is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in shoulder and elbow injuries and trauma. He is the only surgeon in Kansas City who utilizes the advanced technology of ExactechGPS, a precision, preoperative planning tool, for shoulder replacement surgery. He also uses computer assisted navigation to allow for more accurate and consistent implant placement. Dr. Reams earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics, and completed a fellowship in shoulder and elbow at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Dr. Andrew Taiber is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand and upper extremity injuries and trauma. Dr. Taiber utilizes innovative treatments to provide high-quality care for acute and chronic pain. He earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at University of Nebraska Medical Center, and completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity at Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Four other surgeons also are part of the MU Orthopaedic Surgeons group at Liberty Hospital: Santosh George, M.D., Joshua Niemann, M.D., Ryan Snyder, M.D., and Leslie Thomas, M.D.
