Liberty Hospital and MU Orthopaedic Physicians Join Forces to Advance Care in Liberty

LIBERTY, MO. (December 7, 2018) – Liberty Hospital is proud to announce it is partnering with MU Health Care’s Missouri Orthopaedic Institute physicians to bring advanced orthopedic techniques to the Kansas City metropolitan area.  The University of Missouri began employing four orthopedists formerly of Liberty Orthopedics and The Orthopedic Surgeons Clinic (an affiliate of Liberty Hospital) on December 1, 2018.  These physicians are Santosh George, M.D.; Ryan Snyder, M.D.; Joshua Niemann, M.D.; and Leslie Thomas, M.D.  The vision is to grow the orthopaedic service line in the Kansas City area.  By collaborating with an academic health system, Liberty Hospital patients will have access to the latest research and treatments for orthopedic conditions. This experience, combined with physician recruitment, will increase the availability of exceptional orthopedic care in the Northland and Northwest Missouri.

“A partnership with MU Health Care’s Missouri Orthopaedic Institute physicians will allow Liberty Hospital to provide advanced orthopaedic care to the communities we serve,” said David Feess, Liberty Hospital President and CEO.  “This partnership, when combined with our state-of-the-art Norterre facilities, defines the hospital’s focus on advanced healthcare and wellness.”

“Liberty Hospital is a great location and facility to partner with in the Kansas City metro,” said James Stannard, M.D., Chair of the MU Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Columbia, Missouri. “We want to expand on the great work already started by Liberty Hospital.  We will focus on bringing new fellowship-trained physicians to the community and expanding leading-edge procedures and technology that we’ve developed in Columbia.”

“Liberty Hospital is thrilled to be working with a premier organization like the University of Missouri, and we’re proud to be able to bring this service to Kansas City,’ Feess said.
