Liberty Hospital receives "A" from Leapfrog Group

LIBERTY, MO. (Nov. 7, 2019) – Liberty Hospital has been recognized for its dedication to patient safety by being awarded an ‘A’ grade in the Fall 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from preventable medical errors, injuries and infections within the hospital.

“Patient safety is our priority, and Liberty Hospital is honored to be recognized for the dedication of our physicians and staff to keeping our patients safe,” said President and CEO David Feess. “This award is one of the highest possible for a hospital, and Liberty Hospital works tenaciously to protect our patients as we provide high-quality care.”

The Hospital Safety Grade is compiled under the guidance of leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national, nonprofit hospital safety watchdog. The score is free to the public and designed to give consumers information they can use to inform themselves and their families when facing a hospital stay. More than 2,600 acute-care hospitals in the U.S. are graded twice each year, and grades are based on the review of 28 safety measures.

“’A’ hospitals show us their leadership is protecting patients from preventable medical harm and error,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It takes genuine commitment at every level – from clinicians to administrators to the board of directors – and we congratulate the teams who have worked so hard to earn this A.”
