This evening series of childbirth classes covers the mechanics of the labor and birth process. This is not a Lamaze class, but time will be spent learning breathing/relaxation techniques as well as comfort measures and the role of the coach.
Topics also include interventions, complications and pain management. A guided tour of the Birthing Center is included.
Please bring two pillows and a blanket or sleeping bag to use during breathing and relaxation practice. Please note that the class will meet in the Auditorium located in the Education Center. Which is located on the ground floor of the Main Hospital building.
Classes are held one evening per week for two weeks on Tuesday's, but some dates may be altered to accommodate holidays and scheduling.
Baby care basics is recommended as a companion class and requires separate registration. We suggest that you complete your classes by the time you are 36 weeks gestation. Registration is required to participate in this class. You only need to register one time per couple.
